1. Cheaper building and installation costs.
2. Limited amount of space needed compared to traditional wind farms.
3. Single kites can capture and generate more power (up to 25 to 100 MW?) at a steadier output because of flying at higher altitudes.
4. Minimal effort in terms of:
1. Generator structure.
2. Cost
3. Land occupation.
5. The system could also provide wind-based power in areas where traditional wind farms are impractical because of terrain or land use limitations.
6. The area the airfoil can sweep isn’t limited by the diameter of the turbine, so these airborne systems are inherently more efficient.
7. Generate less noise, and be less of a bird hazard.
