18 Disadvantages Of Smoking

1. CHANGES IN THE SKIN: The smoker's skin suffers from premature aging. The skin of the fingers of the hand is also stained by the brown color of the filter of the cigarettes. 2. Smoking increases your likelihood of developing high blood pressure.  3. Lung Cancer: One of the biggest and most publicized dangers of smoking is lung cancer.  4. Eyes: It is proven that different chemicals in tobacco can cause damage to the macula, which represents the most sensitive part of the retina. The tiny blood vessels can burst through the macula, leading to irreversible damage. 5. STAINS AND FALLS OF THE TEETH: One of the components of the tobacco: the tar, it produces spots and cavities in the teeth.  6. Smoking also increases the incidence of blood clots, which can lead to strokes. 7. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: Also known as COPD, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is categorized by chronically poor airflow and worsens over time. The symptoms include shortness of breath, wheezing and coughing and sputum (mucus) production. 8. Digestive system: Smoking is a risk factor for all cancers associated with the larynx, oral cavity and esophagus. There is no doubt that heavy smokers — people who smoke more than 1 pack of cigarettes a day — have laryngeal cancer mortality risks 20 to 30 times greater than non-smokers. 9. DEPENDENCY: Cigarette nicotine is a drug that produces a dependence in the smoker. 10. Effects on Fertility and Babies: Smoking contributes to infertility and decreases the chance of conception whether you are a man or woman. 11. Pregnancy Problems: One of the main things the surgeon general’s warning advises against on cigarette packs is smoking while pregnant.  12. The heart and circulation diseases caused by smoking include: Coronary heart disease (CHD) Aneurysm Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) Stroke 13. OSTEOPOROSIS: The cigarette increases the risk of osteoporosis (weak bones), which causes fractures of bones in the elderly, and particularly among women. 14. Disadvantages to Your Family: Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death.  Even low levels of secondhand smoke are harmful. Secondhand smoke contributes to the incidence of ear infections and asthma attacks in children, increases the risk of sudden infant death syndrome and can cause smoking-related diseases in people who have never smoked. 15. Liver and pancreas: Almost half of all the bladder and kidney cancers in men are caused by smoking.  16. GASTRIC AND DUODENAL ULCERAS: Due to the effect of nicotine that makes digestion more difficult and causes greater acidity after eating, smokers are more susceptible to gastric and duodenal ulcers.
