2. Mass is the measure of the amount of matter in a body. Mass is denoted using m or M.
Weight is the measure of the amount of force acting on a mass due to the acceleration due to gravity. Weight usually is denoted by W. Weight is mass multiplied by the acceleration of gravity.
W = m * g
3. Maybe the simplest way to explain the difference is that on the Moon or on Mars, your weight is reduced because gravity is weaker there, but your mass is still the same.
4. Mass is the amount of matter contained in a body.
Weight is the force by which the earth attracts a body toward its centre, Or we can say it is the force on the object which is offered by the gravity.
5. Mass usually is measured in grams and kilograms.
Weight often is measured in newtons, a unit of force.
6. Mass is a scalar quantity. It has magnitude.
Weight is a vector quantity. It has magnitude and is directed toward the center of the Earth or other gravity well.

Baking powder however is problematic. It can last 3 months
5. The easiest way to test baking soda to see if it is still good for leavening is to put some in a small bowl and add a little vinegar to it. (Make your own baking soda volcano!) If it bubbles up, it’s still good.
