20 Difference Between Plastic And Rubber

1. Rubber can be considered elastomers, and that’s why when compared to plastics, they are naturally more elastic.

2. Plastic  is defined as organic materials which have a polymeric structure, and are derived from oil or petroleum.

3. Organic rubber is manufactured out of latex, the particular sap of the rubber tree.
Plastics in many cases are produced from essential oil, and also have a wide variety of attributes, decided to match the finish use.

4. Plastic is just an incredibly vague term that can refer to any of a huge variety of polymers.

5. Usable rubbers have a much higher molecular weight (M.W.) . That is they have longer chains of molecules.

6. Plastic has plasticity.
Rubber has elasticity.

7. Plastic has to be converted in its form after multiple processes and therefore is considered a by-product.

8. Rubber types:
General purpose elastomers
Special purpose elastomers
Specialty elastomers

9. Plastics Types are:
Thermoset or thermosetting plastics
Thermoplastics
