Difference Between Door and Gate

1. A door consists of a solid, roughly rectangular piece.
2. A door is set in a wall, and a gate is set in a fence.
3. A gate may consist of metal bars or wooden pickets -- anything that blocks people (or animals) from going through.
4. Gate, in it's pure sense is a major separator between two areas, possibly where the inner area is under autonomous control of the owner.
5. Door is an opening between any two areas or rooms.
6. Doors are also typically to bar the passage of people. Gates typically bar the passage of animals, vehicles, or other inanimates.
7. Doors are made of different designs to make a good impression to the homes. Gates are made of strong iron to secure the home by avoiding easy access to the unknowns entering into the homes.
